Cotton Gained on Monday

Cotton futures closed with gains ranging 37 to 60 points in the front months, with May futures the strongest. A number of Chinese factories resumed work on Monday, but reported widespread absences due to transportation restrictions. Certified ICE cotton stocks have steadily been climbing with 02/07 adding another 831 bales to make 31,899 in stock. Friday sales on The Seam added 2,093 bales at an average gross price of 57.97 c/lb, last week’s sales reported on the platform totaled 21,881 bales. The 02/07 Cotlook A index was 45 point higher to 77 flat. The AWP for cotton is 58.44 cents/lb.

Mar 20 Cotton closed at 68.19, up 44 points,

May 20 Cotton closed at 68.74, up 60 points

Jul 20 Cotton closed at 69.54, up 52 points

Oct 20 Cotton closed at 68.74, up 37 points
